From Thursday, June 6 through Sunday, June 9, Santander will be the city hosting the inaugural edition of the Rafa Nadal Padel Tour by The Adecco Group, an innovative amateur padel circuit that aims to combine competition, leisure, fun, and values.
The tournament will be held at Club Padel G6, one of the premier facilities in Cantabria. A total of 32 teams of 6 players, divided into 4 categories (two men’s and two women’s), will compete to inaugurate the record books of a tournament that will later visit Madrid, Valladolid, Marbella, Alicante, and Barcelona. The winners in Santander will have the chance to earn a ticket to the final event to be held in December at the Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar facilities in Mallorca.
During the Santander event, each team will play a minimum of two rounds, and all participants will be able to enjoy the numerous activities scheduled throughout the event. The highlight of the weekend will take place on Saturday afternoon with the Mahou Musical Afternoon and the numerous activations organized by Babolat on the courts of Club Padel G6.
Maribel Nadal, Deputy General Manager of the Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar, expressed great excitement: “We’re really looking forward to this event starting in Santander. We’re thrilled by the positive response the circuit has received and how quickly all the teams signed up. It’s a shame that so many teams ended up on the waiting list! We’re convinced that this model combining sport and leisure will be a success, and we hope all the players enjoy it from the very first minute.”
Just for registering for the event, the 192 players will receive a Welcome Pack with a Nike shirt, product offered by NDL Pro-Health, Babolat wristbands, Príncipe cookies, and sun protection from Cantabria Labs. Additionally, there will be raffles and gifts offered by QuirónSalud, ZEL, and Bezoya, circuit partners.
Known for its prestige in training young tennis players since its opening in 2016, the Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar has also committed to padel through the development of training programs for youth and adults at state-of-the-art facilities featuring 10 outdoor courts and 7 indoor courts. Its fitness center, pioneering health and wellness spaces, extensive dining options, and modern residence have made the Rafa Nadal Academy one of the ideal places for playing padel.
Now, with the organization of the Rafa Nadal Academy Padel Tour by The Adecco Group, the goal is to showcase the values, methodology, and DNA of the academy in the amateur padel environment through an innovative circuit that’s here to stay.
