One of the players who attended the inaugural event of the Rafa Nadal Academy Padel Tour by The Addeco Group was Martita Ortega, who, in addition to having been present several times at the academy, represented its colors in the Hexagon Cup: “Every time I’ve come to the academy, I’ve seen it get bigger. But at the same time, it’s very welcoming, and everything is very close, very elegant, very new, it’s really cool! As a little girl, I would have loved to come here to school and train here every day; I think just waking up here motivates you.”
Another of the great names in world padel is Gemma Triay, who knows the academy perfectly and was also part of the RNA team in the Hexagon Cup: “Every time I come, I see new things. I think the academy is spectacular, it’s beautiful. I’ve also seen that there are three new padel courts that are spectacular. Hopefully, in the future, it can also be an academy for padel players. Since the infrastructure for tennis is already there… why not?” the player from Menorca reflected.
A similar case is that of Álex Ruiz, who feels the academy is his second home every time he visits Mallorca: “The academy is incredible; I think they have all the possible tools here for players to advance in their careers, which is what I, for example, lacked in the past when I started in the world of padel. I believe all these technologies and this infrastructure advancement are incredible for professional athletes. I would describe it as a paradise, not only for sports but also for anyone who wants to dedicate themselves to the elite world.”
Over the years, numerous players from the professional circuit have not only trained but also competed at the Academy. One of the most beloved, Miguel Lamperti, was crowned champion of the Challenger held in Manacor: “I have played in many beautiful places, but I have seen few academies like Rafa’s. For any of us athletes who admire Rafa, it’s a privilege to be able to come and play in such facilities. From the hotel rooms, we can directly see the court, and then the public was spectacular. I am very grateful for the treatment.”
Another former world number 1, Marta Marrero, also won at the Academy: “I was really looking forward to seeing the Academy, and it has exceeded all my expectations. It’s spectacular, and today we topped off the week with a visit to the Museum, which is also spectacular, so I’m very happy.”
If the best players in the world say so… we’ll have to believe them!
